Position Summary

The Regional Director of Sales will oversee daily operation and performance of specified regional event sales team. He/she will drive revenue while supporting the company’s values and guiding principles. This will include emotionally connecting with our guests to create memorable experiences and motivating the team to do the same. This position represents the restaurant in all event opportunities and is responsible for reaching revenue goals for the region and for the overall management of the Event Sales Department. He/she must exceed the guest experience by aspiring to go above and beyond in providing exceptional service.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver genuine hospitality to our guests.
  • Own accountability for the Event Sales Department.
  • Oversee event sales managers and coordinators in the Boston area, providing motivation, support, problem solving and coaching.
  • Actively suggest and pursue revenue driving programs above and beyond responding to incoming leads.
  • Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to meet restaurant objectives and improve sales.
  • Establish an identity in the local community as the top option for dining events.
  • Collaborate with the General Managers, Area Directors, Culinary Directors and VP of Sales in establishing and recommending sales goals for event sales.
  • Build sales through appropriate and profitable decisions based on high standards of quality.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
  • Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth year over year.
  • Coordinate proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
  • Ensure event profitability by working with operations and finance teams to identify and track cost and profitability targets for events.
  • Adhere to, and enforce all sales policies, practices and procedures.
  • Establish key relationships with clients to ensure maximum exposure and increase revenue.
  • Communicate event sales information to subordinates, co-workers, management and guests.
  • Adopt a flexible schedule to accommodate guests and be present at event functions when necessary.
  • Research and development of competitors’ successful event formats, menus, pricing and décor in an effort to keep TRC Events at the forefront of the industry.
  • Assist and advise on the hiring, training and promotion of qualified ESM candidates.
  • Monthly tracking and reporting on Event Sales vs Budget for all locations in region.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of operational and financial results as directed.
  • Advise on the creation of food and beverage event menus for the region.
  • Enforce execution of the TRC Fundamentals and Guiding Principles.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping at the unit and regional levels.
  • Assist Operations with the proper rental, purchase, use and storage of event-related equipment.
  • Work with ESMs and TRC Legal on contract negotiation with guests and clients.
  • Support the successful implementation and sustained execution of TRC initiatives and projects where appropriate.
  • Work with TRC affiliates on an as-needed basis to help create and execute special events.

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School diploma or equivalency required; college degree preferred.

Experience: Seven or more years of previous sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years of experience in managing a sales team.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite and Tripleseat preferred.

Certificates & Licenses: N/A.

Other Requirements: Able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English; must be 21 years of age or older; excellent written and verbal communication skills; valid driver’s license.
