Description
Impact is looking to add a Senior Cloud Architect to our growing Technology Operations team.
The Senior Cloud Architect participates in customer requirements gathering as well as the design and architecture of Cloud solutions with a “Cloud-first” focus. Along the way, the Senior Cloud Architect also works to migrate workloads and assist Engineering teams with their own migration projects. To realize success in this role, the Senior Cloud Architect will need to leverage both social and technical skills to assist Engineers and Client Services professionals with Microsoft-related solution design, implementation, and varying degrees of technical support. The position will require several different skills beyond what is stated here.
Responsibilities
- Partner with other Impact staff members to develop secure and efficient Microsoft Cloud-focused IaaS / PaaS solutions.
- Quote Cloud projects and other related sales opportunities.
- Deploy identity, cloud desktops, virtual machines, storage solutions and other related services in Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and document baseline configurations for Azure workloads to implement and promote standardization and best practices across all customer environments.
- Work to promote best practices related to the design and architecture of Azure solutions.
- Work to orchestrate automation and automation development efforts through the Cloud Engineer team.
- Triage and, if necessary, own escalated technical support instances from colleagues throughout Impact.
- Work to develop and maintain the company’s Cloud-related project plans.
- Document work performed and time spent via the Impact ticketing system.
Things We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of migrating technical workloads in customer environments.
- 2+ years of administrative experience with Microsoft Azure migrations and related workloads.
- 2+ years of identity and access management administrative experience.
- Experience with hybrid environments, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, Azure Active Directory Domain Services, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Files.
- Hands-on experience with network management including, but not limited to, VPN gateway administration, network security, peering, monitoring, and failover administration.
- An ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Valued Qualifications
- Experience with Nerdio Manager for MSP.
- Intermediate and Advanced Microsoft Azure certifications are highly desired (i.e., AZ-305, AZ-400, etc.).
- Experience with and knowledge of SQL Server administration and T-SQL, Containerization, Azure Service Bus, Azure Insights, Azure Site Recovery, and/or Azure Availability Zones.
- Powershell/Azure CLI or other automation orchestration skills with a focus on maximizing efficiency to save time.
- Experience with change management and service adoption strategies in live customer environments.
