$10B Distribution Company seeks a Credit Manager to lead credit analysis and collection efforts. This role is pivotal in evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing accounts receivable, and implementing effective credit strategies to support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Analysis : Conduct comprehensive analyses of financial statements, preparing detailed ratio analyses and interpreting notes to provide actionable insights for credit decisions.
- Credit Reference Evaluation : Obtain and assess credit references and Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) reports to determine customer creditworthiness and risk.
- Strategic Communication : Collaborate with Senior Management and the Sales team to ensure clear communication of credit policies and strategies.
- Customer Engagement : Conduct on-site visits to selected customers to gather additional credit information, support sales efforts, and advise on credit strategies (estimated 10% domestic travel).
- Collection Management : Facilitate collections through effective verbal and written communication with customers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Team Leadership : Oversee a shared collection staff, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in collection processes.
- Reporting Excellence : Prepare detailed and insightful management reports to track credit performance and inform decision-making.
- Credit File Maintenance : Ensure credit files are updated and meticulously organized, maintaining accuracy in all documentation.
- Late Fee Administration : Calculate and manage the collection of late fees in accordance with company policies.
- Claim Resolution Support : Assist in the reporting and resolution of customer claims, fostering positive relationships.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Financial Analysis : Proven ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate credit risk effectively.
- Knowledge of Bankruptcy Rules : Familiarity with bankruptcy processes, including preference, reclamation, and critical vendor status.
- Technical Proficiency : Strong command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
- Detail-Oriented and Communicative : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
- Proactive Problem Solver : Ability to perform under pressure and make informed decisions in complex situations.
- Experience with JDE/Oracle : Familiarity with these systems is advantageous.
Required Experience:
- 7+ Years in Trade Credit Management : A solid track record in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
