Software Engineer II

Position Summary...

As part of the Walmart Global sourcing organization, you will be responsible to build modules, components and integrations which are production ready for an enterprise level quoting platform with higher standards.

We are looking for a Software Engineering II with strong back-end software engineering knowledge in Java or a similar language and is motivated to build robust software solutions at an enterprise level.

About Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain backend software services that integrates with Walmart owned systems and 3rd party software.
• Develop and maintain APIs, async messages allowing 3rd party software to consume and produce events and process the business flows within the systems.
• Work on REST APIs, Serverless, and event-driven microservices.
• Troubleshoot critical defects in software coding.
• Utilize Spring Boot or Spring Framework in Java to design and implement low-latency REST APIs with Azure SQL Server and Cassandra as storage systems.
• Collaborate with team members within the scrum team, QE, Product, Program Management, and 3rd party teams, while partnering with cross-functional project development teams.

What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years hands-on experience in Java or similar Tech stack
• Strong back-end technologies experience
• Spring Boot or Spring Framework
• Relational and/or NoSQL Database experience (Cassandra, Cosmos, Oracle, Azure SQL)
• Experience with modern unit testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Chai)
• Experience with node.js
• Strong ability in problem solving
• Worked on monitoring and alerting tools
• Experience with configuring or implementing Build & Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline and infrastructure as a service.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. The annual salary range for this position is $104,000.00-$202,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
• Option 2: 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, or GSEC.
• Knowledge in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
