This incumbent in this job is a Licensed Social Worker who will perform psychosocial assessments, implementation of treatment plans, and provide counseling with a concentration on children with specialized or atypical treatment issues. The employee works within general methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply the guidelines to specific situations. Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work followed by three years of professional level social services experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners as required by law.
Certification or documented training in Trauma Informed Care and / or Concurring Disorders preferred.

This incumbent in this job is a licensed professional counselor who will perform psychosocial assessments, implementation of treatment plans, and provide counseling with a concentration on children with specialized or atypical treatment issues. The employee works within general methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply the guidelines to specific situations. The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulation of social services programs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
60% Performs biopsychosocial assessments and evaluations aimed at identifying the special problems and needs affecting children with acute chronic psychiatric diagnoses, addictive disorders and co-occurring disorders utilizing the Child/Adolescent Level of Care Utilization System/ Level of Care Utilization System (CALOCUS/LOCUS) instrument. The biopsychosocial assessment will culminate in the rendering of a clinical hypothesis that targets the client's exact service needs, based on ascertained information and an understanding of available clinical services that target specific assessed needs. The clinical hypothesis will be translated into an individualized Treatment/Plan of Care. The Treatment/Plan of Care will be actualized through the activity of resource coordination, targeted to meet the assessed needs of the client.
Provides written documentation and verbal presentation to the other members of the interdisciplinary team, including the medical/psychiatric staff.
Develops and monitors implementation of complex individualized treatment plans, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, to address identified needs, problems and behavioral/emotional reactions of children's addictive disorders and mental health patients and their families.
Conducts group therapy sessions for the support, education and problem resolution of the children's mental health and addictive disorders population.
Provides specialized individual counseling in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team to children's mental health clients requiring advanced diagnostic treatment intervention skills in complex situations such as interpersonal, social, financial, legal and/or health dimensions.
25% Serves as a functioning, professional-level member of the overall Assessment and Referral Team.
Participates in interdisciplinary team staffing and consultations as needed.
Prepares required social services reports, such as assessments, case summaries, social histories, counseling reports, progress reports and discharge plans or summaries.
Maintains HIPAA compliance and adheres to all rules pertaining to client confidentiality. Provides correspondence to community agencies as needed.
Serves as a client liaison with community agencies. Maintains a working knowledge of the array of services available in the MHSD area.
