How will you contribute to the team?

  • Plans and organizes the observation and documentation of construction projects.
  • Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.
  • Assigns, leads, and supervises internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related record keeping.
  • Monitors contractor's progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.
  • Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on onsite observations and contract stipulations.
  • Oversees compilation of final estimate documents.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Performs non-manual field work that involves a combination of conventional and complex features, requiring the application of sound and diversified professional knowledge in broad areas of assignments, usually including the coordination of various projects.
  • Most assignments are performed independently, making decisions on technical problems and methods such as material quantities and documentation methods. Receives general instructions regarding assignment objectives and expected results.
  • Supervises and reviews the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Interfaces with senior technical professionals, technical managers, and administrative staff and managers as necessary.
  • Represents the firm in dealings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency personnel.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field plus seven years related experience, including personnel supervision. Engineering design experience desirable.
  • Leadership and managerial skills; analytical and organization skills; ability to supervise field representatives and field office personnel.
  • Professional Registration desired.

  • Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat, and crawl down into ditches; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, and equipment/traffic hazards.
  • Job also requires ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Job also requires ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and review contract documents, project plans, and progress reports.
  • If position requires driving company vehicle, incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.

Expected compensation range is between $101,419 - $169,031 depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
