About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our real estate portfolio by managing income, expenses, and financial reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of properties and contribute to the success of our company's real estate investments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the general ledger for all assigned properties, ensuring accurate and complete financial records
  • Process accounts payable and receivable for property-related transactions (rent, maintenance costs, taxes, etc.)
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements for assigned properties
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements)
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports to track property performance and identify trends
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for assigned properties
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
  • Liaise with property managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial information
  • Stay up-to-date on real estate accounting regulations and best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in property accounting or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in accounting software specific to real estate (e.g., Yardi Voyager, Buildium)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
