Description • Do you enjoy the courtroom but feel like you haven’t quite found your right fit? • Are you looking for a position where you can expand on your advocacy talents and learn from skilled attorneys who are invested in your success? • Do you want to truly make a difference with how you spend your 9-5? • Are you looking for your work “forever home”? If so, we’ve saved you a seat! Come join the squad at Hembree Bell Law where we help people end their marriages well. Overview We are looking to add a litigator to our growing team. The right person for this role is likely a couple/few years out of law school – maybe you’ve been doing insurance defense or probate or some criminal law but haven’t quite found your “fit”. Maybe you’re loving family law where you are but haven’t nailed the “culture” aspect at your current firm. Perhaps you hung your own shingle but realized quickly that though you love the practice of law, you do not love the running of a law firm. Wherever you’ve been – one thing is for sure: you enjoy being in the courtroom and want to find a place where you can grow and expand your skillset under the tutelage of seasoned trial lawyers. You’re looking for a place with a robust professional training and development program. You love helping people and bring both heart and head to your job. You’re committed to a lifetime of professional and personal growth and want to find an environment where your unique abilities, interests, and skills will have space to flourish over the long haul. This position is a go-to-court-and-try-cases (if mediation doesn’t work) role. You’ll have a skilled support team to do the heavy lifting on drafting, client consults, and admin. You’ll spend your days supporting clients with strategic advice on how they can work toward a smooth settlement while preparing as if their case will go to trial. At HBLF we believe that cases resolve quickly, more efficiently, and often on better terms when we work them up from the beginning. We are “dealmakers” who get it done because we aren’t afraid to take matters to the courthouse steps - if that’s what it takes. You’ll need a Texas law license or at least be well on your way if you’re relocating. Our lovely office is in NW Hills, so you’d need to be comfortable with whatever commute that would mean for you. This really isn’t a position for a new grad, though we might be persuaded if you can persuade us that you have courtroom experience (like through mock trial or clinic or your former work as a paralegal) and are sure that family law is your life’s work. Compensation: $85,000 and up, DOE + Incentive-Based Compensation and Robust benefits package! Excited yet? We can’t wait to meet you! Responsibilities: • Working with families dealing with divorce and custody situations from case initiation until every last detail is handled and they are moving on to the next chapter in their lives. • Playing nice with others as you embody the HBLF team-centered approach to ensure efficient, strategic, empathetic, modern resolution of family law matters. • Engaging in ongoing professional development to sharpen your skills both inside and outside the courtroom. • Helping clients keep “the main thing the main thing” while making sure the details are handled with excellence and care. • Delivering an A+ customer experience to every client or potential client of the firm. • Advancing the HBLF vision to become the premier “good guy/gal” family law firm in Central Texas. • Behaving in such a way that opposing counsel breathes a sigh of relief when they see you enter a case – because they know the process will be reasonable, collegial, and focused on helping families resolve their disputes as efficiently and smoothly as possible. • Contributing to the continued development and advancement of the HBLF reputation in the greater Austin, San Antonio, and Bell County legal communities.
