Title: Electrical System Engineer
Duration: 1-year contract
Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week


Role:

  1. Partner with the prototype teams to support prototype builds that include electrical and mechanical assembly, electrical component level placement/re-work, and support bring-up with engineering teams to accelerate early concept development across the organization.
  2. Be the primary point of contact for hardware testing and troubleshooting from an electrical standpoint and work with other engineers in a team to root cause failures and come up with preventive and corrective actions.
  3. Hands-on experience with debugging and related equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, etc.)
  4. Ability to do PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) and FPC (flexible printed circuit) rework in an electrical lab environment.
  5. Collaborating in a team environment with cross-functional teams such as system engineering, architecture, product design, NPI, and research.
  6. Ability to execute multiple streams of work simultaneously and independently balance and prioritize project workload to ensure success against timeline constraints.
  7. Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  8. Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.
  9. Team player and detail-oriented.

Skills:

  1. 8+ years of experience with prototypes or bench electrical assembly, bring-up, electro-mechanical integration, and ability to do electrical and mechanical debugging.
  2. Ability to read and understand schematics and locate components on PCBs using design schematics and layout viewers.
  3. Set up, support, and maintain hardware in a lab environment.
  4. Generate complete assembly/test documentation of prototype assembly/test setup and share results.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Systems-level engineering development and test experience with complex integrated electromechanical assemblies.
  2. Experience with system-level electrical design including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, and debug.
  3. Specifying components, building schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into opto-electro-mechanical systems.
  4. Experience with soldering, fine pitched devices, 0201 or 0402 components, BGA/CSP, and rework power components.
  5. Parts programming (FPGA, Flash, etc.) and ability to take scope measurements.

Education:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $70/hr - $80/hr.
