As the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, the National Park Foundation generates private support and builds strategic partnerships to protect and enhance America’s national parks for present and future generations.

Chartered by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation is rooted in a legacy that began more than a century ago, when private citizens from all walks of life took action to establish and protect our national parks. Today, the National Park Foundation carries on that tradition as the only national charitable nonprofit whose mission is to directly support the National Park Service.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The National Park Foundation (NPF) is seeking one qualified candidate to serve in the role of Fellowship Coordinator to deliver grants administration and program support for a range of activities including NPF’s Science Fellowship Program and the National Park Service (NPS) Mellon Humanities Fellowship Program. Specifically, the Fellowship Coordinator will support the success of post-doctoral Fellows who are conducting advanced scientific and humanities research in parks. Tasks include creating grant agreements, grant management, budget analysis, tracking spending, processing payments, guiding communications, helping to build collaborations and facilitating national program implementation.

While this role provides support for grant and program management, it also offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned or emerging professional with curiosity about how post-doctoral fellowship programs help to expand capacity of national parks to deliver more relevant and inclusive science and history content. Ideal candidates will proudly bring the intersectionality of their race, gender, language, culture and personal affinities, and are eager to help connect underrepresented communities to science, history and culture in national parks.

The National Park Foundation seeks to recruit and hire people who are multi-lingual, racially and ethnically diverse, and/or identify as LGBTQ+ or any non-dominant identities. We believe diverse work environments fuel more inclusive approaches to grant making, public engagement and park stewardship. Join us and help build the change.

To Apply

Please submit a resume and cover letter describing why you are a good fit for this position, as well as contact information for three professional references. Resumes without cover letters will not be considered. Qualified applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview.

Accepting applications for a limited period until December 15, 2023.
