The Salvation Army Midland Division Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking a EPICC Recovery Coach and Peer Specialist. This individual As a Recovery Coach for the EPICC Project, you will have the opportunity to work on a community collaboration with numerous treatment centers in the Eastern Region of Missouri. Potential Recovery Coaches/Peer Specialists should be prepared to outreach EPICC clients in the field, provide equitable service delivery to a diverse client population, complete data entry requirements in a timely manner, and manage agency-specific tasks and responsibilities.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, $17.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

  1. Follow monthly Recovery Coach outreach schedule/plan. Note: coaches will be required to work some weekends (rotating days off during the week) and will be required to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure coverage.
  2. Provide outreach efforts to individuals who use opioids and motivate them/provide linkage to treatment services (in partnership with community-based referral sources as required).
  3. Coordinate connection to treatment and recovery support services and collaborate with current partners to provide low barrier access to long term recovery/treatment engagement.
  4. Provide overdose education on harm reduction and overdose
  5. Accurately document outreaches in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) Database and/or other outreach management system in real time.
  6. Follow-up with clients and treatment centers as needed to ensure the referral to services was completed and the client was connected/admitted to the agency
  7. Complete client follow-ups as needed to keep the client engaged or to re-engage as well as completing status updates at two weeks, 30 days, three months, and six months post-outreach.
  8. Participate in EPICC team meetings and meet with EPICC Program Management regularly to debrief from shifts, discuss cases and engagement strategies, and ensure proper form completion.
  9. Conduct evaluation interviews to assess the type of treatment required by the client and develop a treatment plan to address client needs including screenings and intakes on client upon admission into treatment.

Qualifications

High school/equivalent diploma and previous lived experience with substance use. Former consumer of substance use treatment services is a plus. Must be in recovery for a minimum of two years. Must possess Missouri Peer Specialist certification at time of hire or within 30 days of hire. Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and motor vehicle insurance. Must be able to pass background check or request an exception to the findings. Must be at least 21 years of age.
