Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required
License: Valid State License required, pending license accepted
Certifications: BLS, CPI
Must-Have:
- Epic experience
- Medical and psychiatric experience
- Skills in geriatric care, inpatient care, locked unit experience, medical/psych care, substance use/chemical dependency care
- Proficiency in medication administration (PO, rectal, IM, IV, SC, etc.)
- Ability to start and maintain IVs, blood glucose monitoring, Foley catheter insertion/maintenance
Job Description:
- Work with adult psychiatric and geriatric populations, including some patients with co-morbid medical conditions requiring a med-surg approach.
- Float within the service line to all behavioral health units as needed.
- Be present in the milieu and engage in restraint application when required.
- Serve as a charge nurse when needed.
- Patient diagnoses may include dementia, depression, Parkinson's Disease, bipolar disorder, or anxiety.
- Some patients may require pre-op preparation for ECT.
- Complete 40 hours of orientation.
- Weekend shifts required every other week.
- Must work 2 out of the 3 following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day.
- Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions considered.
- Participate in modules and orientation pre-start.
