If so, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a Director of Individual Giving.Callen-Lorde is a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare, providing affirming, compassionate care to our community for over 50 years. Our Behavioral Health team is dedicated to ensuring that every individual receives the care they need, regardless of their background or circumstances.About the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Individual Giving to lead and grow our individual giving programs. This is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure major gifts, increase small dollar donations, and expand planned giving efforts. The Director will play an integral role in building relationships with donors, partners, and the Callen-Lorde community to foster a robust culture of philanthropy. You will work closely with the development and communications team to drive fundraising initiatives that directly support our life-changing work.Key ResponsibilitiesMajor Gifts:Identify, cultivate, and steward major gift prospects to secure contributions for the Howard J. Brown Society.Build and manage a portfolio of major donors, fostering long-term relationships.Collaborate with senior leaders, board members, and champions to maximize major gift opportunities.Small Dollar & Online Fundraising:Design and execute campaigns to increase small dollar donations through direct mail, email, social media, and digital platforms.Develop innovative strategies to expand online giving, including peer-to-peer fundraising.Analyze donor data to tailor outreach and enhance donor acquisition and retention.Planned Giving:Lead efforts for the John B. Montana Society, promoting legacy giving opportunities.Guide donors in making planned gifts through estate planning, wills, and trusts.Ensure planned giving donors receive appropriate recognition and stewardship.Special Events & Corporate Relations Support:Partner with the Director of Special Events and Corporate Relations to integrate individual giving strategies into event planning and corporate partnerships.Assist in event execution and committee engagement to further individual donor outreach.Culture of Philanthropy & New Donor Opportunities:Foster a culture of philanthropy among staff, volunteers, and partners.Explore new engagement opportunities, including with donor-advised funds.Create systems to streamline and optimize individual giving initiatives.Team Leadership & Collaboration:Lead and mentor junior team members, promoting collaboration and professional development.Align individual giving strategies with broader development goals.Participate in strategic planning and contribute to fundraising plans and annual goals.Analytics & Reporting:Track, analyze, and report on individual giving metrics.Use data insights to adjust strategies and improve fundraising outcomes.Work Schedule:Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours. Learn more about our employee benefits submit a cover letter along with your resume to be considered for this position.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.At least seven (7) years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record of successful fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit healthcare or LGBTQ+ organization.At least three (3) years of experience in managing staff and volunteers, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.Proven track record of securing major gifts, growing individual donor programs and building a culture of philanthropy.Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of LGBTQ+ health issues and familiarity with LGBTQ+ community organizations strongly preferred.Desired Characteristics, SkillsProficient in fundraising platforms, including Bloomerang, Givebutter, or similar, Microsoft Office suite.Familiarity with healthcare industry as well as LGBTQ+ and HIV related issues.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work, specifically with a focus on creating an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture and work environment.Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.
