Position: OSP Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (On-site 8 days per month, 1-2 days per week)
Job Overview : This role is responsible for supporting the Make Ready function , particularly with pole work. The OSP Engineer will handle engineering work orders (EWO) and collaborate across multiple workgroups and turfs.
Must-Have Skills:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
Desired Skills:
- Strong background in Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering.
- Ability to review and understand Engineering Work Orders (EWO).
- Experience in project management across various work groups and regions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for inter-organizational and customer communications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, often conflicting, priorities.
- Experience making independent decisions based on company policies, practices, and project requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Job Duties:
- Utilize current and evolving technologies to accomplish work assignments.
- Use personal computers and/or paper records to gather and obtain relevant information.
- Utilize automated design programs and computerized drafting tools as needed.
- Interface with various organizations throughout the provisioning process.
- Apply OSP Protocol methods and procedures, along with multiple databases, to complete designs.
- Track and monitor the progress to ensure timely completion of engineering work orders.
- Employ cost-effective methods in your work.
- Spend part of the day in the office environment as necessary.
