As the Bar Manager, you will be the driving force behind the institution, its clientele and its team. You will be the eyes and ears of the Managing Partner and the conduit for guest feedback and our collective efforts professionally.
You are the lead employee and the only direct report to the Managing Partner and will be expected to execute at a level consistent with the position title. This is a hands-on role and your presence at the Bar will be required to oversee operations, train our staff, maintain communication and to continue to grow our clientele and manage our relationships with guests and vendors alike.
We are an extremely high volume project– our biggest opportunity this year will be internal growth– how disciplined and consistent can we get about how we run our business and how we manage our guest experience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Manage the staff of bartenders, barbacks and possible assistant manager.
- Manage contractors: security, porters, DJs, social media
- Develop employees both in skill set and attitude– creating an environment where everyone is working together to be professionally successful.
- Continue work of building a company handbook / bible and holding staff accountable for those guidelines.
- An understanding of Profit and Loss statements and a deep interest in Profit and Loss fluency. A deep desire to understand margin and bottom line.
- Profit and Loss responsibility- inventory management.
- Weekly (or more) meetings with Managing Partner- follow up meetings with staff as required.
- Deep Product knowledge, understanding and ability to communicate it with team.
- Administrative: weekly schedule, payroll submission, invoice management, cash management-
- Programming- managing and scheduling strategic events and opportunities–
- Property Maintenance and management
- Work with and manage compliance with all NYC agencies- DOT, DOS, DOHMH, FDNY etc.
