Are you ready to take your tax expertise to the next level? We're seeking a Tax Accountant to play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and ensuring precise tax preparation and filing for our multi-national operations across the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. You'll work alongside a dynamic accounting team, developing tax strategies, managing compliance, and staying ahead of ever-changing regulations.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and file tax returns for multiple entities, including sales and use taxes, property taxes, and business-related taxes, using Vertex Software .
- Collaborate with external tax firms for income and property tax filings, and conduct in-depth research on U.S., Canadian, and Bermuda tax matters.
- Lead state tax audits, gathering documents, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring compliance.
- Perform detailed sales and use tax analyses, identifying tax-saving opportunities and implementing process improvements.
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and prepare audit schedules during month-end and year-end closings.
- Maintain strong control procedures over tax processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting , finance , or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years' of experience in tax accounting with strong knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and Bermuda tax regulations.
- Expertise in tax planning , data analysis , and process improvement , preferably in a multinational environment.
- Proficiency in Windows OS , Microsoft Office Suite , and experience with SAP and Oracle Micros POS is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
