Job Summary: As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in determining the overall cost of construction projects by evaluating labor, material, and equipment needs. You will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, engaging with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, and developing comprehensive cost proposals for clients. Additionally, you will negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness in all estimations.

Job Description:

Thoroughly review and interpret project proposals, specifications, blueprints, and other construction documents to gain a complete understanding of the scope and requirements of each project.

Calculate and analyze the estimated time, labor, materials, and equipment costs required for each phase of a project to develop accurate cost projections.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and any subcontractor costs, ensuring all variables are accounted for.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to source competitive pricing and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.

Evaluate and manage incoming proposals from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring all quotes meet project specifications and budget requirements.

Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the most competitive pricing and terms while ensuring quality and reliability of materials and services.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide accurate cost information and present prepared estimates for approval or revision.

Continuously track and analyze project costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets remain accurate and within scope.

Keep up-to-date with market trends, material costs, and industry best practices to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably in the construction or engineering industries.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; experience with estimation and project management software (e.g., AGTEK, AutoCAD, or other construction-specific tools) is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Adobe software for reviewing and modifying construction documents.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and project costs accurately.

Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms with vendors.
