Sr. Consultant - Capital and Resolution Planning

Major Duties:

1. Support the completion of Northern Trust’s annual resolution planning activities.
2. Evaluate regulatory and internal requirements around resolution planning.
3. Operate as a subject matter expert for resolution planning, providing comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.
4. Gather and aggregate data; conduct financial analyses.
5. Prepare presentations, supporting template requirements, and completing documentation of processes and results.
6. Conduct financial analyses with both internal and external data, which may include topics in corporate finance and resolution planning.
7. Operate independently; have in-depth knowledge of the function.
8. Carry out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, and technically difficult.
9. Balance high-level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities.
10. Strategically develop, implement, and administer programs within functional area.
11. Monitor risks relative to functional area and deliver timely escalation of major issues to manager.
12. Perform quality control checks/secondary review to ensure accuracy of the data.

Knowledge:

1. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills, the ability to both create and critically review and edit documents.
3. Excellent marketing, relationship, facilitation, and motivational skills.
4. Exposure to Project Management will be an added advantage.
5. Comfortable acting as lead person in discussions with other NT functions.
6. Ability to work independently and create solutions to business challenges.
7. Ability to understand and deal with complex issues and make recommendations for appropriate courses of action.

11. Leadership and organizational skills are essential to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to management.

Experience:

A College or University degree and/or 7 to 10 years of relevant proven work experience in the financial industry is required.
