JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking Engineer to be dedicated to the Trust & Safety aspects of the Information Security (InfoSec) team. In the role of Trust & Safety Engineer, your primary mission is to help safeguard our user community and ensure a secure, welcoming, and efficient atmosphere on Fox platforms. You will be instrumental in developing and upholding the systems and resources necessary to achieve these objectives, and will also be the primary resource for data and analysis and data workflows.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The focus of this role within the InfoSec team pertains to the Trust & Safety functions, specifically concerning user-generated content throughout FOX. You will spearhead the compilation and examination of data relevant to Trust & Safety objectives, with an adeptness in presenting actionable insights and strategic recommendations derived from your analysis. Moreover, you will have a central part in the creation and continual support of systems integral to Trust & Safety initiatives.

Your role as the User Dynamics Engineer is integral to maintaining the community's vitality and safeguarding the reputation of FOX's interactive sites and applications.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop micro services and platforms to collect large data sets; perform analytics; produce dashboards/tools/interfaces to empower the Trust and Safety analysts; incorporate 3rd party services; and perform mitigating actions across existing FOX platforms.
  • Apply data science techniques to identify trends in user behaviors across multiple sites and subject matters and understand their business, brand, and engagement impact.
  • Pattern recognition to identify hostile users, inauthentic behaviors such as spam, bot, misinformation/disinformation , analysis of subjects matters and the nature of the conversations they yield.
  • Help develop and deliver innovative technology solutions to support user safety.
  • Provide thorough documentation for the systems you help build.
  • Work with other developers on the InfoSec team on a variety of security automation projects (e.g. Detection and response capabilities, incident triaging, code analysis, vulnerability triaging, etc.)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Proficient in Python data analysis tools: Jupyter notebook, pandas, matplotlib, numpy, and SQL.
  • Capable of rapidly comprehending and working with data.
  • Familiar with AWS services.
  • Skilled in managing, processing, and presenting data in a corporate setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Adept at collaborating with diverse teams to achieve objectives.
  • Data analysis is a must, including knowledge and interest in NLP and LLMs.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Prior experience in roles related to investigation, analysis, or content moderation, particularly within the trust and safety sector, would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with machine learning would serve as an added bonus.
