Job Description

Western Digital Media Development team is looking for an engineer to support our Wet Process Equipment. The engineer will support tool maintenance operations, legacy equipment upgrades, new tool design and installations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work hands-on with Line Maintenance team for equipment down calls and service
  • Keep up to date with planned maintenance protocols and procedures
  • Update & maintain documentation to support process development and maintenance operations
  • Support Continuous Improvement process by analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, and implementing changes to Wet Process Equipment.
  • Coordinate with Operations on Equipment Installs and Upgrades
  • Collaborate with Process development on upgrading existing legacy equipment or designing new equipment
  • Support Worldwide Wet Process Equipment development from design to installation and verification
  • Communicate effectively across various levels of the organization from operator to VP
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
  • Good written communication to record and direct procedures and protocols

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient with SolidWorks
  • Proficient with 2D CAD (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, etc)
  • Understanding of material properties and compatibility
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems and reading schematics
  • Understanding of chemistry
  • Understanding of electronics and reading electrical schematics
