Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Director of Sales to provide best in class service for our guests and exceptional financial results for our investors.

As a key member of the property leadership team, the Director of Sales has influence and accountability for the revenue generation of the property. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales and the General Manager, the Director of Sales will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of ethical leadership to lead the property to achieve its business goals.

  • Responsible for the overall sales and revenue generation of the property
  • Executes the training of all associates as it relates to the sales process to maximize revenues
  • Maintains compliance and stays up to date on new sales initiatives for the brand and company
  • Actively involved in the STAR report
  • Implements and trains on all procedures that relate to sales, including systems and processes
  • Maintains positive relationships with Management company, property owners, and clients
  • Supports guest experience and satisfaction in all operations
  • Acts as the face of the property by being actively involved in the local community
  • Implements and maintains all sales documentation and sales procedures through training, coaching & counseling, and progressive discipline when necessary
  • Makes revenue management decisions to effectively grow market share
  • Profit Management

The Director of Sales will be responsible for the development of customized sales and marketing plans for the hotel. This position leads the implementation of these plans based on RMC-approved policies and strategies, particularly aspects of the market and demand segments.

  • Knows key accounts and actively sells through personal visits and regular contact with these accounts and their decision-makers.
  • Understands the local hotel market - strengths and weaknesses of the competition, using this knowledge when presenting information to decision-makers.
  • Familiar with the successful practices of competitors and recommends strategies or sales tactics designed to grow revenue and manage expenses.
  • Identifies and actively solicits new accounts for the hotel, ensuring effective and on-going Hit List pursuit strategies are in place.
  • Documents all sales calls and other sales activities using sales database systems, including Market Planner, Market Segment Activity planner, and Weekly Sales report.
  • Markets opportunities on the property’s web site and on electronic distribution channels, including GDS and internet travel sites.
  • Actively leads all hotel sales and marketing activities.
  • Ensures that all sales information is communicated to all departments.
  • Responsible for the development and control of the Sales team budget and operating costs.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge in the use of Revenue Maximization programs and assists the General Manager with establishing and carrying out revenue maximization strategies.
  • Accurately forecasts occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (e.g., increased competition).

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
