Job Overview:
The HR Specialist is primarily responsible for providing administrative support within the human resources department of CJ America. This position will cultivate a robust, trust-based relationship with prospective candidates, in addition to overseeing the recruitment process, including onboarding new hires in the New York Office. Furthermore, this role entails the performance of administrative tasks and services to facilitate the efficient operations of the General Affairs and Executive Assistance function in the New York Office. The role will be working closely with the Talent Management Manager and General Affairs Manager at headquarters.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Talent Management Manager or HR Professionals with the hiring process (e.g., recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings) and promote positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
  • Organize and facilitate the complete onboarding procedures, including the new hire orientations and other HR training programs for new employees
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and serve as liaison between the New York office staff and the HR team at headquarters, providing information and responding to requests
  • Stay abreast of the latest HR trends, including best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in HR, talent management, and employment & labor law
  • Manage office maintenance and repairs, ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance, coordinate activities with building management, oversee visitor & vendor management, and track service schedules.
  • Manage office supplies to ensure resources are available when needed, initiate orders for stationaries and ensure incoming mails are delivered to the correct recipients in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and support a range of diverse administrative functions (i.e., meeting room arrangements, coordinating company-wide events, order catering, etc.)
  • Work directly with the Executive by providing executive assistance, such as email composition and communication preparation as well as carrying out a variety of special projects/research assigned and maintaining confidential and sensitive information
  • Manage the executive's business expense invoicing and calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, travel (may include domestic & international), and prioritizing the most sensitive matter
  • Serve as a liaison between the Executive and stakeholders in Korea, ensuring effective communication and timely completion of required actions
  • Provide assistance with personal matters for the Executive as may be required from time to time
  • Perform other HR-related duties as required and assigned by the HR team at headquarters
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field required
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in HR administration, with additional experience in office administration
  • Keen attention to detail, highly organized, excellent time management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive matters
  • Excellent communication skills in person, via phone and in written correspondence
  • Availability for occasional work outside of regular business hours may be required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Bilingual in English and Korean strongly preferred

The anticipated hourly wage range for candidates who will work in New York is $30 per hour to $35 per hour . The final hourly rate offered to a successful candidate will be subject to several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of the candidate's experience within the job; type and length of experience within the specific industry; educational background; and the location of employment. This salary range may not reflect the pay scale for employees who work in other states.
