Controller

Our client in Jersey City privately held manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team and contribute to their continued success.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$150,000 - $175,000

Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations within the luxury goods and retail industry. It will work closely with the executive team to provide strategic financial insights, maintain financial stability, and drive the company's growth.

Responsibilities of the Controller:

• Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis. Implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to provide insights into the company's performance and profitability. Develop key financial metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making. Identify trends, opportunities, and risks to guide strategic financial planning
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and financial reporting standards. Prepare and file accurate tax returns and financial reports in a timely manner. Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews
• Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Monitor and analyze cash flow projections and report variances to senior management

Qualifications for the Controller:

• Experience working with a global company
• CPA preferred, not required
• Someone who is hands on with their team and strong in reconciliations

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
