The Supply Chain Analyst has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the production schedule and providing that production schedule to Operations to support the company forecasts. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, and supporting other business functions as required.

 

 

Essential Functions  

·      Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.

·      Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of future potential problems.

·      Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes.

·      Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times.

·      Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.

·      Manage the inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations.

·      Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.

·      Establish a production schedule that minimizes cost and supports the overall forecast

·      Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks).

·      Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.

·      Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.

·      Purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization.

·      Qualify vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.

·      Track purchases, monitor vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information.

·      Monitor and analyze the commodities market, global economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions.

·      Identify, evaluate, and monitor suppliers to develop reliable sourcing and ensure the quality and availability of required commodities.

·      Participate in bidding and contract negotiations to obtain the best pricing to meet commodity needs.

·      Analyze inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business objectives to plan and manage purchases.

·      Comply with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods.

·      Review sales forecasts, product specifications, and production schedules to accurately determine raw material requirements for an organization.

·      Ensure raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules.

·      Utilize MRP system to coordinate materials from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production.

·      Update orders to account for remaining inventory or changes in production schedules.

·      Maintain Item Master data in MRP system.

·      Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience  

·      High school diploma or GED.

·      5 years of experience in a similar role.

·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, or related discipline.

 

Knowledge & Skills  


·      Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and excellent in Excel. 

·      NetSuite. 

·      Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.

Work Environment  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
