REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have excellent academic credentials and communication and interpersonal skills. An advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in molecular or cell biology, immunology, genetics, cell physiology/biophysics, biochemistry or a comparable life science field is required. Ideal candidates will have prior experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications for life sciences, biotech or pharmaceuticals inventions; and/or experience in biotech commercialization, such as university tech transfer, or industry commercialization/regulatory compliance. Previous law firm or industry experience and current patent bar membership is preferred, however, candidates with strong scientific backgrounds will be considered. A strong candidate can demonstrate the ability to apply scientific expertise together with commercial and legal considerations to understand the clients’ big picture in the commercialization sense; is comfortable with oral presentation and explanation of work product; is comfortable and effective at working independently; and is comfortable with remotely supporting supervising attorneys in multiple offices.
