What You’ll Do
The National Sales Manager is responsible for driving group room nights and catering revenue for Rio Las Vegas. The position will manage a defined market, soliciting and closing business through multiple business development strategies.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Maintain exceptional customer service at every interaction.
- uild and maintain strong meetings, conventions, trade show and intermediary customer relationship on behalf of -Rio Las Vegas.
- Solicit new group business within defined territory through prospecting, business travel, entertainment, industry association involvement, and existing relationships maintenance.
- Meet or exceed established quarterly and annual room night and revenue goals and adapt to changing market needs with resilience.
- Understand and communicate market trends with the team.
- Log and retrace customer activities within the sales system, establishing an appropriate communications cadence with customers.
- Generate and receive RFPs, evaluate profitability against hotel strategy and respond to leads in a timely manner.
- Understand department and hotel business objectives and create solutions with existing and new business opportunities.
- Send proposals, plan and conduct site inspections and generate contracts and addendums.
- Negotiate contract language with legal counsel and business terms with EDOS and applicable services teams.
- Turnover files to services teams thoroughly and timely to ensure operational success.
- Attend all pre-con meetings, maintain strong presence and entertain customers while groups are on-site, and develop strong inter- and intra-departmental relations.
- Create and execute a strategic plan for business development and personal growth.
- Travel domestically and internationally as necessary to develop business.
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly sales quotas and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Participate in team training and growth opportunities and support development of team members.
- Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
- Minimum five years of progressive hotel sales experience with recent experience selling large meeting and convention space.
- Long-term relationship management.
- Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as business demands.
- Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, analytical thinker.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills which include being able to comfortably sell new ideas/strategies at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive with an attention to details.
- Able to set priorities, work schedules, and meet department deadlines.
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proficient in Delphi or similar group sales CRM system preferred.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
