**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Night - 11.5x3 - 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 34.5 hours
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
**License:** Registered Nurse License
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS
**Must-Have:** EPIC experience highly preferred; 2 years of critical care/tele experience; 1 year of travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem positions)
**Job Description:**
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, and delegate as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers by anticipating needs and readiness to learn about their care plan, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate effective allocation of material resources.
- Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through facilitation of actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and medication review.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care by identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement process improvement strategies and engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
- Coordinate with the clinical leadership to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care.
- Document nursing practice accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.
- Contribute to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients and their families, and members of the healthcare team.
