ABOUT THIS ROLE

The role of a maintenance drafter with Wawona Frozen Foods requires a skilled professional who produces technical drawings based on the designs of architects or engineers. They must also be able to provide technical guidelines for different aspects of construction and manufacturing, including all schematics and blueprints, building dimensions, materials, and workflow diagrams for multi-step procedures. As well as monitor systems to ensure proper operation and planning is being followed.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements included in SQF policies and procedures, including Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and GMP's as well as meets all company corporate requirements related to quality and food safety programs. Employee is responsible and encouraged to report Food Safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
  • Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption of scheduled services and assignments.
  • Working closely with a PC/ PM, able to understand, interpret sketches and translate to Construction drawings.
  • Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow.
  • Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
  • Coordinating with other professionals to discuss the project requirements necessary to complete technical drawings and negotiate changes.
  • Improving the functionality of an existing building or product
  • Works safely in accordance with company's safety program requirements.
  • Wears all the required personal protective equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the maintenance team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • An associate degree in a related field or program, or 2 years of experience as a drafter
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience with 3D AutoCAD
  • Experience with 3d modeling & pipe (preferred)
  • Mathematical skills
  • Good communication skills and a self-motivated, team player
  • Ability to work under time pressures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend s instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, staying organized.

  • This position will work out of our Alluvial location.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
  • Sit, stand, and walk. As well as talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
  • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
