Senior Director of Operations


  • Role reports to the VP of Operations and will be a key contributor in the executive team
  • Will manage a team of 25 salaried employees overseeing operations, quality, safety, and human resources

Responsibilities:


  • 8 direct managerial reports with 20+ indirect salaried reports
  • Motivate site management to establish a safe, positive work culture.
  • Execute projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the transfer of best practices throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Achieve agreed budget, revenue, profit (P&L) for the area of responsibility.
  • Develop and achieve the annual goals for each area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance to all accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction to ensure performance meets customer requirements.
  • Participate in the management and planning of regional initiatives to include space, equipment, labor, systems, etc.
  • Ensure resource management / equipment planning processes are properly defined, deployed, and measured.
  • Set clear performance expectations; provide regular feedback and reviews; resolve team conflicts; encourage a positive and safe environment; use coaching and corrective action for underperformance; understand and use voluntary/involuntary termination processes.
  • Understand and coach others on processes, company policies and procedures; ensure training requirements are met; identify and address skill gaps; discuss career interests.
  • Communicate facility, company, and other pertinent information to team; share customer information on regular basis.


Requirements :


  • BA/BS degree required, ideally in Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar.
  • Masters, MBA, Six-Sigma certifications preferred
  • 15+ years leadership of running a CPG, food, beverage or other closely related high-speed packaging operation
  • Site management experience with experience overseeing operations, quality, safety, continuous improvement, and HR
  • Must have experience managing leaders (managers) in a manufacturing setting
  • P&L and budget management experience
  • Internal and external audits management
  • Demonstrated success with understanding yields, labor and driving efficiencies forward; experience using systems to track is preferred
  • Must be flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced environment utilizing lean manufacturing, six-sigma, WCM, TPM and related continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical background with skills to coach, teach and develop based on the data
  • Strong computer skills, prefer experience with SAP
