MAU is hiring a Safety Team Lead in Dothan, AL. As a Safety Team Lead, you will provide Safety Program Management and PIV training and compliance for associates and full-time regular staff (100+) and foster a positive safety culture within the team through training and enforcing safety rules and work standards.

Shift Information
  • Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Occasional nights and weekends, as required

Essential Functions
  • Provide applicable Safety Data and Report Out during Pre-Shift Meetings
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation training for associates
  • Track/Update Site KPI's
  • Maintain the PIV Impact Program
  • Perform Safety Gemba walks throughout the Plant (Safety Compliance)
  • Off-shift team safety audits
  • Behavioral Based & Power Industrial Truck Observations
  • Provide continuous training efforts to maintain OSHA Compliance and improve the safety culture
  • Monthly Safety Training (Safety Focus)
  • Annual OSHA Compliance Training
  • Track/Record Safety Performance for the Site Team
  • Respond/Investigate incidents/accidents that occur in the facility & provide containment/countermeasures when necessary
  • Administer recertification process
  • Facilitate 4SPS events
  • Oversee post-accident reports and drug testing
  • Facilitate Random Drug Testing
  • Ensure associate compliance with Dress code, PPE, and MAU policies
  • Assist with Security compliance and suspension of employees
  • Provide continuous improvement opportunities to the team
  • Provide assessments of associates' training progress
  • OSHA Annual Required Safety Training
  • Production Post Validation
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Training Validation
  • Update the Cross Training Matrix
  • Maintain all Training records / virtual document management
  • Provide coaching to all Associates
  • Assist with site-wide communications related to policy changes and deployment, as well as safety incidents, incident investigations, and Safety Alerts
  • Serve as a witness when required for attendance, work performance, and conduct counseling sessions
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position can supervise the following positions:
  • Safety and Training Specialist
Work Environment or Working Conditions
  • Responsibilities may be performed both in administrative and manufacturing environments
  • Customer sites sometimes include process manufacturing equipment and heavy-power industrial vehicles
  • Environments may vary from non-temperature-controlled environments to GMP clean room required
Physical Demands
This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift approximately 75 pounds
  • Ability to continuously mount and dismount a vehicle
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to climb 5 flights of stairs multiple times a day
