Director of Tax

We are searching for a Tax Director to lead an organically growing team in the suburbs of Chicago, IL.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Consult with clients on business processes, such as succession and tax planning.
2. Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements for accuracy and compliance.
3. Develop and train team members.
4. Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
5. Perform a range of tax procedures, including the calculation of tax provisions, deferred taxes, and effective tax rates.
6. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact.
7. Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
8. Attend industry-leading events and trainings as necessary to stay updated on tax law changes and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA required.
3. Minimum of 15 years of experience in tax roles, with at least 8 years in a leadership or management position.
4. Deep understanding of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations, especially with tax planning, compliance, and accounting.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify tax risks and opportunities and develop strategic solutions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a dedication to teamwork and collaboration.
7. Proven leadership ability, with experience managing teams.
8. High degree of integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of professionalism and compliance.
