The PCD is a nurse leader who is accountable for the overall infusion therapy operations, clinical teams and ensures plans and delivery of high quality and safe care. This role contributes to and supports promoting clinical excellence. The PCD of Infusion Therapy ensures that high quality care is provided within regulatory and accrediting body standards, and that overall clinical performance meets or exceeds national best practice benchmarks. The PCD ensures clinical operations function at top levels of safety and efficiency, while exceeding patient expectations. The PCD is responsible for engagement including integration of DE&I, team engagement and metrics around recognition, recruitment, and retention. The PCD is accountable for viable financial performance of the areas for which the job has accountability. The Patient Care Director understands the Magnet program and culture; supports the integration of Magnet standards into the nursing department infrastructure. The PCD supports the shared governance model; maintains active engagement, facilitates staff involvement in shared governance.The PCD will lead a team of nurses who are committed to serving patients with exceptional care and promote the mission, vision, and core values of Hospital for Special Surgery. This is a leader of approximately 20 individual contributors consisting of RNs and ancillary support.
