Job Description and Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality litigation, pre-litigation, and preventative litigation services and advice to DB in an efficient, cost-effective manner across two key practice areas: Property & Casualty and Auto litigation cases.
• Provide strategic and tactical leadership on litigation matters and overall litigation risk mitigation, maintaining best practices in litigation management and avoidance, and counsel and advice on managing litigation costs and risks.
• Manage and oversee outside counsel’s handling of all DB related litigation and coverage matters.
• Manage and oversee DB’s TPA’s handling of all DB related litigated and potentially litigated claims.
• Provide review and evaluation of all litigated and potentially litigated matters, including coverage issues, liability, and damages values.
• Provide case evaluations and settlement recommendations to DB’s upper management.
• Work closely with a team of DB claims professionals on all litigated and potentially litigated claims.
• Review and evaluate all litigation invoices for accuracy and payment approval.
• Represent DB’s and DB’s insured’s interests at court conferences, arbitrations, and/or trials if needed.

Job Qualifications:

• Over 5 years’ experience in a mid-size or large law firm, or 5 years’ experience in Property & Casualty or Commercial Auto insurance cases as an in-house attorney for insurance carriers.
• JD degree.
• Admission to the Bar in good standing in the State of CA.
• Some management experience overseeing the work of others.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
• Capable of building and maintaining positive relationships through teamwork.
• Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry preferred.
