Job SummaryThe Logistics Procurement team conducts bids and negotiations of more than $2.0B in spend across all modes of transportation. This position supports the logistics team with new carrier onboardings by working with legal, credit, risk, and the procurement team to ensure contracts are properly executed. The role will also support the team with rate maintenance, managing bid events, rate and data analysis, savings identification, and ad-hoc reporting.Principle AccountabilitiesSupport managers in bid events across multiple modes of transportation by formatting data, issuing bids to suppliers, and conducting optimization scenariosManage rate entry and maintenance across various Transportation Management SystemsAnalyze cost-effective modes including Rail, Intermodal and Truck to benchmark ratesConduct routine audits to ensure accurate rate uploads and maintenanceAssist Procurement with data analysis and managementAdminister the department\u2019s internal portal for carrier services, identifying root causes, and developing action plans between carriers and facilitiesCreate and maintain carrier profiles in database and across multiple systemsEnsure compliance with insurance and industry certifications, while monitoring carriers\u2019 operating authority statusGenerate weekly reports on active and approved carriersProcess carrier rate addendumsPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications and Skills RequiredBachelor's degree in Transportation Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.1 to 3 Years Logistics Experience RequiredExperience with QlikView and Jaggaer preferredAbility to multitask and manage rapidly changing deadlines and prioriesDetail oriented with ability to mine datasetsAbility to clearly and effectively communicate and present to peers and various levels of managementStrong analytical and conceptual skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointSelf-motivated and able to take initiative in a dynamic, fast paced environmentWestRock (NYSE:WRK) partners with our customers to provide differentiated paper and packaging solutions that help them win in the marketplace.
