You will be responsible for delivering multitenant, highly available, resilient cloud and edge services to manage assets and devices easily and securely. You will collaborate with team members and other engineering groups in Microsoft to build services that transmits and processes telemetry data from industrial assets and devices, to the Cloud. Responsibilities
- You will design, develop, deploy, and operate high scale multitenant distributed systems on Azure across multiple datacenters around the world.
- You will examine and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of your components through proper instrumentation and monitoring.
- You will contribute to the planning, prioritization, process, and culture of your team by adhering to Microsoft’s principles of creating clarity, generating energy, and delivering success.
- You will work with key external customers and program managers to understand requirements and implement industry leading IoT platforms.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of software development experience programming cloud applications, REST APIs, AND/OR distributed systems in C#, Java, C++, Rust or similar.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
o OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years software development experience, and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience working with REST APIs and JSON and defining APIs for developer-oriented SDKs
- Experience in distributed systems, micro-service architectures and/or distributed compute
- Experience with relational databases or document storage technologies such as SQL Server, Cosmos DB, or open-source equivalents
- Experience with graph databases, event processing, or actor frameworks
- Experience in container technologies and orchestrators (Docker, Service Fabric, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Azure ARM Templates, AWS CloudFormation Templates, etc)
- 1+ years contributing to architecture and design
- Demonstrated ability to work within product teams and with partner product groups
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
