Job Summary
This academic advising position will be based in Purdue Indianapolis and will report to the Director of Advising. This role will have a flexible student caseload with the potential to support all academic colleges and programs. The caseload of students for this position will adjust based on enrollment population needs from year to year and will be expected to cross-train as needed across academic disciplines as a key member of the academic advising team in Indianapolis. This position will serve students across major disciplines such as STEM and knowledge of related fields is encouraged.
The salary for this position will start around $46,000 per year, plus benefits

This role is designed to be predominantly on-campus, yet has some flexibility to remote. Such occasions will be based on meetings with faculty and staff, participation in or facilitation of training sessions, and attendance at leadership or faculty meetings, among other in-person commitments.
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Master's degree in higher education or related field
  • One year of student advising, recruitment, or other student-facing experience
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in student services, counseling, higher education administration, or field related to the majors advised
Skills:
Required:
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, current and prospective students, parents, and families
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve and utilize campus resources for individuals and groups
  • Ability and willingness to work in a changing environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of undergraduate student development and recruitment
  • Knowledge of programs and majors at Purdue University
  • Knowledge of field related to majors advised
