Position Overview:

We seek a visionary Vice President of Engineering to join our leadership team in the Bay Area. This role requires a dynamic and seasoned leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, a strong background in coding, and a willingness to engage directly with code when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Architect and enhance software solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.
  2. Lead, mentor, and expand a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  3. Drive the development and implementation of engineering processes and practices that ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
  4. Collaborate with other senior leaders across the company to align engineering strategies with business objectives.
  5. Manage the engineering budget and effectively allocate resources to maximize productivity and innovation.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into strategic planning when beneficial.
  7. Act as a technical and business mentor to team members, aiding in their professional growth and development.
  8. Lead by example, not shying away from diving into coding tasks, and instilling a hands-on approach within the team.


Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with significant leadership responsibilities.
  2. Expertise in designing and building robust, scalable software systems.
  3. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams.
  4. Strong coding skills and the willingness to roll up sleeves and code alongside the team.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  6. Experience with agile development methodologies and implementing engineering best practices.
  7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
