Here is a chance for you to make a positive impact - join us in this career opportunity: Machinist (1st Shift 7:00AM-3:00PM) This non-supervisory position, located in Delavan, Wisconsin, will use manual machine tools and equipment to produce precisely engineered specialty and custom parts, fully meeting all required specifications, used to build machines and equipment. Duties include setting up equipment, operating equipment, and inspecting finished parts to drive profitability and achieve organizational KPI\'s and strategic objectives. Under the guidance of the Chief Engineering Officer, responsibilities include: Setting up and operating manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, welders, and other tools to drill, cut, shape, and finish metal and other materials. Analyzing specification charts, samples/prototypes, blueprints, schematics, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements and developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications. Selecting appropriate machines needed to complete the work. Computing dimensions, tolerances, and layout of workpieces for machining. Measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material and workpieces. Starting and observing machine operation and using precision equipment such as calipers and micrometers, detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting machine controls or control media as required to ensure the product being produced is of the highest quality. Verifying conformance of finished work to specifications. Successful candidates will possess the following: Education, training, and experience equivalent to a vocational associate degree with at least 2 years of directly related experience in a manufacturing environment. Apprenticeship training is preferred. Coursework should be supplemented with math, blueprint reading, and mechanical systems. Must possess an intermediate knowledge level of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must possess a solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods involved in machining processes and applicable safety and OSHA requirements. Must be able to attain forklift licensure. Must possess the ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives; working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and managing time effectively and the ability to work independently, managing job orders and deadlines while maintaining an awareness of other business dependencies, when completing assigned duties.
