We have an opportunity for a Hearing Officer in Riverside County. We are seeking motivated, fair and detail-oriented individual(s) who will perform quasi-judicial and judicial functions for the Riverside Superior Court.

The ideal candidate will meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. Active member in good standing with the California State Bar for at least 10 years continuously prior to appointment;
  2. Was a judge of a court of record in California within the last five years, or is currently eligible for the Assigned Judges' Program;
  3. Was a commissioner, magistrate, referee, or hearing officer authorized to perform the duties of a subordinate judicial officer of a court of record in California within the last five years.

Selection Procedures:

Step I: All applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; those candidates deemed most qualified may be referred to step II in the selection process.

Step II: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications may be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Successful candidates may be invited to participate in the examination process.

Step III: Those candidates that are successful in the previous step may be invited to an oral interview. Those candidates who are successful in the interview (weighted 100%) may be placed on the eligible hiring list. Placement on the eligible hiring list is not a guarantee of employment.

Additional steps for the selection process will include a drug test and a comprehensive background check.
