Introduction
Potomac Library seeks an innovative, forward thinking Information Services Manager to oversee the Adult and Youth Services Departments in our vibrant and diverse community. About This Role:
Supervises staff, including scheduling staff, creating goals, and writing evaluations, managing employees to maximize performance, approving timecards and facilitating the staff discipline process.
Oversees library programming for Youth and Adult Services.
Provides excellent customer service at an integrated service desk.
Manages the facility including opening and closing duties.
Serves as a branch liaison participating in policy and procedure improvements and revisions and special committee assignments.
May include providing Passport Services.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree in library science and 2 years library systems experience, to include one year of supervision.
Preferences:
Supervisory experience to include scheduling, training and personnel management.
Experience developing and implementing library programming for all ages.
Experience providing excellent customer service including policy interpretation, helping visitors, and writing incident reports.
Experience with collection management.
Experience managing a facility to include opening/closing a building and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt 37.5 hours per week position. Hours are scheduled at Potomac Library Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule includes days, one evening per week, and alternating Saturdays as assigned. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library.
Starting Salary Range : $82,777.50 - $94,905.25
