OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE

Serve in an exciting role as a laboratory senior research associate that directly supports our cutting-edge drug discovery programs across our immune oncology pipeline. Develop & execute tissue slide-based assays & perform detailed analyses that drive drug development efforts through the identification of mechanisms of action, pharmacodynamic markers and predictive biomarker signatures. Interact with stakeholders across the department as well as external vendors. Be part of a rapidly evolving team that supports clinical development to move our most impactful programs forward in ways that meaningfully improve patient outcomes in the clinic.

How you will contribute:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Develop and execute singleplex and multiplex immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence assays.
  2. Conduct tissue image analyses on stained tissues from preclinical and clinical samples.
  3. Incorporate proper quality controls and best practices to produce high-quality work in an efficient manner.
  4. Complete all assigned laboratory duties in a timely manner and effectively resolve technical issues.
  5. Communicate and collaborate effectively with departmental colleagues and external partners in a cross-functional, highly collaborative team environment.
  6. Appropriately document testing and record data in our electronic notebook.
  7. Responsibilities include ~60% lab work and ~40% collaboration with our oncology and GI teams and CROs.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. BS with 4-6+ years of experience in an academic and/or industry setting related to immunohistochemistry, target validation, mechanism of action, pharmacodynamic, and translational strategies across different therapeutic areas (including oncology, gastrointestinal and neurology).
  2. Experience in automated IHC/IF assay development (Leica, Ventana, DAKO) and analysis of markers in human and animal tissue specimens is strongly preferred. Specifically, knowledge of Ventana IHC/IF staining platform is a plus.
  3. Experience in image analysis (HALO and Visiopharm software) is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of basic disease mechanisms and basic understanding of small molecules, antibody-based therapeutics and cell therapies mechanisms of action is a plus.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to work within multi-disciplinary and matrixed teams.
