JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Inspector Group Lead is an enthusiastic leader who will supervise groups, prepare daily activities, delegate tasks and ensure group members cooperate and goals are achieved. A successful leader will radiate confidence, inspire others and be able to build professional relationships. Ideal candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and know how to effectively manage their time.

The Quality Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our pontoon boats ranging from checking manufacturing processes, mechanical operation, and/or electrical/component checks and troubleshooting and resolution. The department is responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections, adhering to established standards, and contributing to our commitment to delivering exceptional products with a focus on Quality, Service, and Innovation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading a group of production team members in day-to-day operations.
  • Providing clear written and/or verbal instructions to team members and promptly addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Planning daily production activities and delegating tasks.
  • Clearly outlining goals and ensuring group members understand what’s expected of them.
  • Educating and training new team members.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are always obeyed.
  • Monitoring team performance and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Providing group sessions as well as one-on-one meetings where individuals can voice their concerns or questions.
  • Upholding the values and standards of the organization or company and setting a good example for colleagues and group members.
  • Conducting daily training and safety sessions, as required.
  • Support a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifies opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of manufacturing processes, mechanical operation, and/or electrical and related components of pontoon boats to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Identify and document any defects, damages, or deviations from specifications.
  • Work closely with the production and assembly teams to address and rectify any issues identified during inspections.
  • Recommend quality control measures to enhance the overall product quality.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommended actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results and communicate them to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and customer service, to address and resolve issues identified during inspections.
  • Provide feedback to improve the manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to the inspection process.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during the inspection process.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to pontoon boat manufacturing and inspection.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in quality inspection, quality control, or a similar role within the marine industry.
  • Strong understanding of pontoon boat construction, systems, and components.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to convey inspection findings and collaborate with other departments.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
