Headworks International is seeking a recent graduate to assist our Procurement team with sourcing, purchasing, and expediting components. The right candidate will be up for a challenge and passionate about improving the Company’s processes. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization. Experience in sourcing and dealing with international vendors as well as detailed review and processing of international shipping documentation for customs clearance and letter of credit payment processing is a plus . The role includes sourcing cost-effective, on-time domestic and international delivery with consistently high-quality suppliers; ensuring on-time component deliveries to the Company's factory; and maintaining on-time shipments of HW equipment shipments to our customers. The right candidate will work well as a team and take pleasure in learning and growing with our team.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains commitments and coordinates the purchase of all direct and indirect materials, equipment, and services, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
- Works with suppliers and planners to ensure optimum materials utilization and excellent supplier performance.
- Works with the Engineering Department and able to read and understand information contained on drawings and bills of materials.
- Coordinate logistics plan with freight forwarders and manufacturing to ensure lowest cost and on time delivery to customer.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of Procurement experience with a proven track record.
- Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
- Strong demonstrated negotiation skills a must.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Lean supply chain/operations experience.
- Experience with contract manufacturers.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing environment.
