The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Finance Manager of Newbuild reporting to the Senior Director of Newbuild Finance.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
This role offers the chance to work in a highly dynamic and innovative environment by providing critical financial support to RCG’s cutting-edge Newbuild and Innovation Organization.
This position leads the Fleet Modernization Finance team and is the primary provider for all Fleet Modernization financial and analytical support for the entire Newbuild & Innovation organization. Responsible for accuracy and financial key controls across all aspects of our $300M and higher annual Fleet Modernization portfolio, as well as key metrics to support Management’s long-term strategy.
Overall, the finance team collaborates closely with the project and operational leaders to manage the project financials, risk, and opportunities. Additionally, the finance team is responsible for maintaining effective financial processes and controls across projects and creating and delivering effective financial reports that enable timely decision making and are compliant with RCG’s procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the financial leadership and development of the Newbuilding Fleet Modernization Finance Team.
- Manages and has ultimate ownership of the $300M+ annual fleet modernization budget.
- Leads all budget monitoring and reporting including reviews with Newbuild, Brand, and financial leadership across the Company.
- Responsible for reviewing Newbuilding construction financial figures and directing key customers in review of their financial activities, including preparation of corporate certifications and approval with the EVP of Newbuilding and Fleet Design.
- Prepare and communicate Newbuilding Department Project Plans, Monthly/Quarterly Forecasts with department heads and key customers across multiple projects including the management of all drydock yards.
- Partner with Executive leadership to prepare the annual departmental operating business plan with focus on achieving efficiencies and value-added work.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on critical regulations such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Sarbanes Oxley key controls, and the UK Anti-Bribery Act to ensure compliance with government regulations and the Group’s internal policies.
- Maintain and Enhance project cost controls including, leadership of monthly closing, reconcile projects to G/L, ensure compliance with company policies especially those regarding investments & expenses.
- Support Project Managers on the development and management of project costs and measure project effectiveness through the entire scope of works.
- Facilitate capital asset requests & amendments through development of financial plans, ROI analysis, and proper investment vs. expense recognition.
- Quickly turn-around ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment.
- Prepare business presentations for special projects.
- Support vendor evaluations and manage payment approvals and invoice processing.
- Departmental Liaison to Accounting, Brand Finance, and Corporate/Capital Planning.
- Financial Control of fleet modernization projects. The active portfolio is approximately $600M on a two-year rolling basis.
- Adherence to department budget and controls.
- Identification of efficiencies and focus on value-added work.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or in a technical field at a minimum or significant and recent direct experience in FP&A role.
- Minimum 8-10 years financial management experience for a large corporation.
- Positive attitude with demonstrated history of success in project analysis, tracking & implementation.
- Good communication skills and good controllership mindset.
- Ability to work closely with and provide direction to highly technical managers.
