Position Summary: The Staff Accountant - General Ledger will help maintain accurate financial data, oversee accounts, and work with team members to fulfill various accounting responsibilities for internal and external users.
Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Agree to ACC's doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision statement
  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures
  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions
  • Experience in problem-solving
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks
  • Comfortable with data systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, as needed
  • Fixed asset and project management
  • Assist in the implementation of financial accounting procedures
  • Manage credit card transactions
  • Assist with accounts payable and check requests
  • Help prepare the annual church budget and facilitate data entry of the budget
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned
