The new Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for implementing strategic programs and processes to improve site safety performance and to manage regulatory compliance. They will be the primary contact for regulatory agencies, municipalities and other 3rd parties on any EHS issues/concerns.


Position Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the plant Environmental, Health and Safety programs and policies
  • Provide leadership & direct support to coordinate & implement EHS programs, projects & other compliance activities. Serve as the site primary EHS representative
  • Promote a culture of working safely, identifying and correcting hazards ahead of time
  • Ensure all environmental rules and regulations are followed
  • Ensure all plant personnel are trained on critical EHS policies and procedures and training is updated as necessary or required by law
  • Hold managers and employees accountable for working safely and per the environmental guidelines
  • Develop EHS KPI’s and delivers against those performance criteria
  • Find ways around obstacles. Think creatively and proactively.
  • Manage direct reports as assigned


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • EHS regulatory and technical expertise in the areas of occupational health and safety, process safety and environmental is mandatory
  • Demonstrate ability to implement strategic plans and tactics
  • Command the respect of the organization to drive a safe and environmentally conscious culture
  • Change agent and leadership skills to move the company into the next level of growth
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels and functions within Company
  • Experience with sustainability programs is preferred
