What is Nuuly: Nuuly is the newest sibling to Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People, focusing on circular fashion by offering a subscription rental experience for women’s apparel. What our team does: Nuuly engineering provides services and apps used by our customers, our distribution center, and our analytics, data science, and customer service teams. Our diverse and welcoming team of engineers collaborates closely with the product team to select, plan, and build features that support Nuuly's customers and rapid growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Apply your knowledge of Android to work on a small team that contributes to the full lifecycle of the Nuuly experience.
2. Contribute to the architectural and design decisions your team makes.
3. Build reusable components with elegant, intuitive interfaces.
4. Breakdown features into focused units of work, estimate release schedule, and work on the feature with your team.
5. Collaborate with other engineers on the team by pair-programming and reviewing code.
6. Contribute to code and design reviews, evangelize best engineering practices, and participate in weekly Mobile Team learning sessions.
7. Bring a thoughtful perspective, empathy, creativity, and a positive attitude to take on difficult challenges.
8. Have an opinion about what code to test and how to test it.
9. Collaborate with other engineering teams and architects to develop new features.
10. Advocate for the principles of accessibility and build interfaces accessible to users with disabilities.
11. Maintain the privacy and security of the applications.
12. Experience vetting & integrating 3rd party vendor libraries is a plus.

Qualifications:

1. Experience building complex user interfaces.
2. Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
3. Experience designing mobile applications to consume RESTful APIs.
4. Fundamental understanding of the HTTP/HTTPs protocol and caching strategies.
5. Experience with source control systems like GitHub.
6. Passion for UI/UX development and creating premium experiences.
7. Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and common mobile development design patterns.
8. Knowledge of reactive design patterns and APIs.
9. Understanding of multi-threading/asynchronous programming, memory management, networking, caching, performance optimization, localization, and security for mobile applications.
10. Experience with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, test-driven development, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
11. Well versed with Agile methodology.
12. Experience driving adoption of software engineering standard methodologies.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

3-5 years professional experience as an Android Engineer
