JOB OVERVIEW

This position will be the automotive law attorney and lead legal advisor for the company regarding dealer network matters. You will be a key member of the teams responsible for the sales and distribution of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the United States and will handle a wide range of topics from agreement drafting and negotiation to dispute resolution. The role will have regular interaction with senior and executive management and calls for the use of legal and business acumen in a solution-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Providing prompt and effective legal counsel to internal and external clients, specifically as to dealer law and relations and network strategy.
  2. Manage pre-litigation and litigation of dealer topics in collaboration with Legal and business colleagues.
  3. Counsel business units regarding corporate policies and directives.
  4. Provide support and advice regarding corporate compliance matters, including antitrust topics.
  5. Develop and provide training to business units concerning applicable legal issues, including state automotive dealer requirements.
  6. Provide supplemental support to Legal colleagues on a range of topics that fall under the scope of responsibilities of the Legal department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  2. Bachelor's degree
  3. At least 15 years or more of experience with at least 5 years of practice in automotive dealer law preferred
  4. Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
  5. Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented. Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills. Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and client skills is a must
  6. Demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
  7. Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule
  8. Travel domestically
  9. Work weekends and holidays when required
