What You Will Do:
National Louis University (NLU) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Associate Vice President of Enrollment (AVP) to help shape and execute our NLU Online initiative and other growth strategies. Focusing on both undergraduate and graduate programs, the role offers the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing team by growing and strengthening infrastructure and working collaboratively with university leadership. Essential Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Growth : Lead the university’s new student online enrollment growth strategy including setting of enrollment goals and monitoring key performance indicators to ensure goals are achieved and exceeded. Development local, regional, and national plans to expand geography of our enrollment by developing partnerships with stakeholders including marketing, business development, and other critical departments.
- Team Leadership and Management : Effectively recruit and retain a talented team of enrollment professionals focused on online and hybrid programs. Provide leadership, mentorship, effective sales training, and performance management to drive a culture of student service, accountability, innovation, and success.
- Enrollment Optimization : Oversee the full cycle recruitment and enrollment process for assigned areas of responsibility, from lead generation ideas through first term retention. Collaborate with marketing to promote social media and email marketing ideas. Working with critical support departments, develop and oversee policies, procedures, and compliance to streamline the enrollment process, making it convenient for the students.
- Financial and Budgetary Management : Develop and manage financial budgets for assigned areas, including forecasting and monitoring expenses.
- Telephony, Technology, and Presentation Tools : Enhance the use of all tools to increase enrollment efficiencies as part of the performance management program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior level leadership in Higher Education or closely related field
- At least 3 years of experience in Telephony/Call Centers managing the complexities of that environment
- At least 3 years of experience successfully presenting to large groups including preparing materials, structuring presentations and creating an engaging delivery
- Minimum of 3 years conducting consultative sales training to enhance the skill sets of all team members
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams including performance management, building a culture of accountability and providing positive motivation and inspiration
- Entrepreneurial Orientation : Takes an active role in identifying new business opportunities, assessing the risks involved and comparing these to the potential advantages of taking action. Influences decisions by examining financial costs and potential benefits and by providing realistic risk-assessments.
- External Awareness : Keeps informed about market conditions, competitive information and political factors that may impact the goals and interests of the organization. Uses good judgment about when to share external information as well as who should be informed. Stays up-to-date on trends and projections and sees what is on the horizon. Is seldom surprised by political or market factors that affect the organization.
- Relationship Building / Networking : Builds rapport and develops alliances with a broad range of people. Adjusts communication style to meet the needs of individuals at various organizational levels and to meet the needs of clients. Forms alliances by demonstrating concern and respect for others, as well as by highlighting common interests and aspirations. Leave others feeling that he/she will be a trusted ally and is careful to act in ways that reinforce that trust over time.
- Solving Problems : Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems. When problems occur, defines those problems, investigates obstacles, gathers relevant information, decides whether solving the problem should be a group decision, generates and analyzes alternate solutions and arrives at a workable solution.
- Change Management : Proactively assesses the need for change, seeing to it that appropriate resources are available to facilitate changes, considers factors that will support or hinder change initiatives, enthusiastically promotes change in terms of the expected benefits, as well as removing or lowering the impact of potential obstacles.
