The Director of Coffee leads the continued growth and successful execution of the business and mission of 7 Corners Coffee by living out the cultural values of 7 Corners Coffee, while leading a team who embraces and reflects them. This person will set the bar for exceptional customer service with the highest quality products while creating a positive and inspiring atmosphere. As the leader of a dynamic and ever-changing team, this person will need to be a problem-solver and self-starter. This individual will communicate effectively with peers, coffee shop managers, barista teams, and customers. This role has full responsibility of the P&L across all coffee shop operations, defines clear business expectations, manages and improves operating procedures and processes, and leads all efforts for continuously optimizing coffee shop practices, business marketing and development, customer and staff engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the full P&L across all coffee shop operations. Develops and reaches sales and revenue plans in support of financial objectives. Currently oversees the operation of 3 coffee shops, their managers, and baristas.
- Accountable for profitability of all stores by growing sales, controlling cost of goods sold, achieving and maintaining satisfactory staffing, managing overall inventories, supplies, and expenses.
- Maintains and utilizes financial reporting tools and works closely with the Wooddale CFO to ensure accurate records.
- Coordinates and oversees all cash management and handling, in coordination with the Wooddale finance and accounting team.
- Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
- Hires, on boards, and trains quality team members. Leads and coordinates ongoing training and development for current staff. Takes a lead role in organizing volunteer staff and events.
- Provides instruction, allocates assignments, actively reviews performance and works hand-in-hand with team members to create a vision.
- Creates and communicates coffee shop service, product, safety and food safety policies and standards. Ensures proper execution across all locations, holding managers and teams accountable to established policies.
- Plans, develops, and implements an effective marketing and communications program in collaboration with the Wooddale Communications team and the 7CC shop managers.
- Adjusts products, offerings, and prices as needed to meet market demands.
- Coordinates with vendors. Controls ordering, purchases, and inventory of all dry goods, beverage, food, and other supplies.
- Maximizes operational effectiveness of the coffee shops, equipment, and staff. Maintains a maintenance and repair schedule for all critical coffee shop equipment.
- Identifies strategies to retain and attract customers.
- Collaborates with the The Avenue Pastor to support outreach initiatives, services, and events.
- Reaches out to community leaders in order to raise awareness for 7CC and to identify program connections in support of 7CC growth objectives. Creates outreach opportunities through partnerships, collaborations, and special events.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Management experience of staff and business operations in a retail setting; experience as a Café Manager preferred.
- Possess an outgoing personality and ability to connect with people on multiple levels.
- Experience in providing excellence in customer experiences.
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience related to coaching teams engaged in direct customer service a plus.
- Ideally knowledgeable of the Square or Clover retail systems.
- Possess or agree to complete ServSafe Manager Certification within first 6 months.
- Appreciation for third-wave coffee shops and their values.
- Proficient on a computer; familiar with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ and willing to become a member in good standing of Wooddale Church.
- Possess a missional mindset in all areas of life.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading community engagement activities.
- Bachelor's degree or certification in business administration or business management is advantageous.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the CFO of Wooddale Church.
- Supportive working relationship with the Campus Pastor of The Avenue.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position.
